The Department of Home Affairs considers 4 main things when considering any Australian partner visa application.

1. Social aspects: Do you present yourselves as a couple? Do other people know about your relationship?

2. Household considerations: Do you live together? How do you share household duties?

3. What is the nature of your commitment? Are you married or have you registered your de facto relationship? How long have you been together?

4. Financial arrangements: Do you have assets together? Do you have separate accounts, or joint accounts? Every couple is different. The Department of Home Affairs will need to see evidence of the particular details of your relationship.

Catherine Follett, Director of MSM Legal, explains the factors considered for any partner visa: Adelaide’s MSM Legal can help you with your partner visa application today, no matter where you are.
