Business NSW will accept a second round of sponsorship applications for Subclass 190 visas on 22 October 2014 at 10am EST. Only 1000 application places are available in this round and the intake will close once the intake of 1000 has been reached. The next round of sponsorship applications will be in 2015.

In an effort to ensure a more equitable spread of occupations, Business NSW has temporarily suspended 12 skilled occupations from its occupation list. The suspended occupations are:

  • 221111 Accountant (General)
  • 221112 Management Accountant
  • 221113 Taxation Accountant
  • 261111 ICT Business Analyst
  • 261112 Systems Analyst
  • 261311 Analyst Programmer
  • 261312 Developer Programmer
  • 261313 Software Engineer
  • 262113 Systems Administrator
  • 263111 Computer Network & Systems Engineer
  • 263311 Telecommunications Engineer
  • 263312 Telecommunications Network Engineer

Therefore, if your skilled occupation is listed above, you will not be eligible to apply for NSW sponsorship under the Subclass 190 visa in the October round. The next round will be announced in 2015.

Those wishing to apply for NSW sponsorship must ensure that they meet the sponsorship criteria before lodging their application.
