Live in Victoria has recently announced some important changes to their State Nomination requirements and processes. These changes are relevant to those applying to Victoria for nomination under the Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 visa and the Skilled Regional Subclass 489 visas.

All of the automotive trade occupations have been removed from the State Nominated Occupation List:

  • 321111 Automotive Electrician
  • 321211 Motor Mechanic (General)
  • 324111 Panelbeater
  • 324311 Vehicle Painter

The following Engineering professions have also been removed from this list:

  • 133211 Engineering Manager
  • 231212 Ships Engineer

The requirement for Statisticians to have science experience has now been removed.

Live in Victoria will assess visa applications against the above changes from Monday 26 October 2015. What does this mean for you? If you already have an invitation for a Skilled visa (Subclass 190 or 489) and/or you have already applied for your visa, these changes do not affect you. However, if you are yet to apply for State Nomination, then you should apply as soon as possible. Alternatively, you may need to look to other States/Territories for nomination options. Our Registered Migration Agent Lawyers and Registered Migration Agents can assist you with all aspects of the skilled migration process including State/Territory nomination requirements and processes.
